Tense muscles? Tweaked nerves? Migraines and panic attacks a norm? Students can take a break, even if only for a few hours, at Spa Day.

The free event, funded by the student activity fee, will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday in the craft room of Loftin Student Center.

Carrie Hernandez, student activity specialist, said Monday many students do not have the money or never have had the chance to visit a spa for some personal R&R.

With final exams approaching, along with more classwork, work commitments and the holidays coming up, those who can’t help but be reminded of the stresses that come with being a student can enjoy Spa Day.

“(Students) should come try it out with no expensive fee,” Hernandez said.

Ten masseuses will be available, along with one foot-massage station, and three paraffin wax attendants. Adding to the atmosphere will be the sound of a guitarist.

While some faculty manage to sneak in, Hernandez said with a laugh, Spa Day is focused on students so they can take a break and take in a breath.
