What is your name?
William Mossom
What's your show and when does it air?
"The Empire" airs from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays.
What kind of music is on your show?
It's mostly indie music from the U.K. but I throw in some random tracks once in a while to keep people guessing. I also play everything from alternative rock to some R&B and Euro pop.
What's the funniest thing that has happened while on air?
People who call in then forget what song they want to hear.
What got you interested in radio?
Some DJs back home from the U.K. Chris Moyles, Colin Murry Zane Lowe, Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross.
What underground/local band do you enjoy?
Local bands to check out I'd say, Girl in a Coma, The Melissa Ludwig Band, The Heroine and Phonolux.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I'm from the north of England and can see Scotland from my house.
What's your favorite thing about being on air?
When listeners call in whether it's for a request or to ask about a song I've played, knowing whose listening and what they want to hear makes me want to find music that's five times better than what they might be asking for so I can keep improving the show.
What has been your favorite show moment?
My first give-away last week. The phone just went crazy, and everyone really wanted these tickets for a gig in Austin.
What new CD would listeners hear on your show and what's so good about it?
Vampire Weekend's new album Contra, which has some awesome tracks. The last single "Cousins" is catchy as hell. Compared to their first album, the guitars are faster and drums are louder. They even have an arena-style rock on the track "Giving Up the Gun."
