‘No refusal’ means back to prevention of DWIs

Texas leads the nation in collisions caused by DWIs.

At 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 23, Officer Michael Thornton was on his way home from work when he noticed a stranded motorist downtown on the upper level of Interstate Highway 35 before the Alamo exit. Sexual assault investigation transferred to Alamo Colleges police from San Antonio police

Chief Don Adams says no new information will be shared.

The San Antonio Police Department transferred an Oct. 31 sexual assault and robbery case Nov. 9 to the Alamo Colleges Police Department, Chief Don Adams said. On Oct. 31, a female student reported being sexually assaulted and robbed in Lot 10 at Courtland Place and Lewis Street. Full story

Student jumps from his motorcycle, avoids injury in collision near campus

The driver credits a motorcycle safety course for his quick reaction.

A white Ford Escape cut off engineering freshman Adrian Mejia while he was riding his motorcycle south on North Main Avenue around noon Nov. 8. The driver of the Escape, Brian Conness, said he did not see Mejia when he turned left from North Main Avenue into the parking lot of a Subway sandwich shop at Main and Myrtle. Full story

Rape, recovery, formation of support group still in dark concerning topic often ignored

Student reports sexual assault and robbery Monday in Lot 10 at Courtland and Lewis

A female student reported being sexually assaulted and robbed at about 7 p.m. Monday in Lot 10 at Courtland and Lewis streets. At 10:41 p.m. the Alamo Colleges Police Department issued a campus crime alert about the incident through ACES email. Full story
